Dealing with personal paradox

This is something I meditate on regularly. How can I speak up on issues I find important when they seem to counter to each other?   How can I assemble a workable world view when the various parts are in conflict with each other?

For example, I spend most of my days trying to help Life express itself by removing distortions, imbalances, or stagnation in the flow of chi through the skeleton, skin, mind and nervous system.  It would be easy to assume, and you would be right that I am against abortion.

I am a veteran, father, Oathkeeper, watchdog, guardian and other duties.  Which explains why I am in strong support of the 2nd amendment of the formative contract that allows a government to exist among a free people.

How do these seemingly opposite positions come together in a single world view?  I’ll answer this in the comments later today.  Please feel free to chime in.

How about a new Green Tea Party?

This is a nice interview that discusses the need to use modern technology to reduce the need for international trade and promote local economies.  This model drastically decreases energy consumption while at the same time promotes jobs as local economies begin producing the things their community needs.

Judge denies motion to remove prop C from the August 3 ballot

As you are probably aware, liberal special interest groups filed a lawsuit to remove Proposition C—the Health Care Freedom Act—from the August 3 ballot.

I’m happy to report that their effort has failed.  Yesterday, a Cole County judge rejected their challenge, ensuring that Missourians will have the right to make their voice heard on the federal health care bill in less than 3 weeks. I have included the Associated Press article below.

Judge upholds Missouri health-care ballot measure
Associated Press
July 16, 2010

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — A Missouri judge on Friday rejected a legal challenge to an Aug. 3 ballot measure that, if approved by voters, would put Missouri in conflict with a key provision of the new federal health care law.

Cole County Circuit Judge Paul Wilson dismissed a lawsuit that had sought to strike the proposal from the ballot on grounds that lawmakers violated the state constitution in their crafting of the legislation. The ruling could be appealed.

The Missouri measure proposes a state law barring governments from requiring people to have health insurance or from penalizing people for paying their health bills with their own money. It would conflict with a requirement of the new federal health care law that most people must have health insurance or face fines by 2014.

Missouri’s election essentially would be the nation’s first statewide popularity vote on the health care law backed by President Barack Obama and the Democratic-controlled Congress. But its legal affect is questionable, because federal laws generally supersede those in states.

The lawsuit claimed Missouri’s measure violates state constitutional requirements that legislation contain a clear title with a single subject that is not changed from its original purpose.

In court arguments Tuesday, plaintiffs’ attorney Chip Gentry argued the ballot measure posed an unconstitutional conundrum for voters by forcing them to cast a single “yes” or “no” vote for what really is a two-part question.

Besides banning government-mandated health insurance, the Missouri measure would allow insurance companies to voluntarily dissolve. The provision on insurance mandates and wording referring the measure to the August ballot were added in the Senate to a House bill that originally dealt only with insurance company liquidations.

The lawsuit claimed the bill’s title of “relating to insurance” is so broad it is meaningless. But Wilson wrote in a decision issued after the close of business Friday that the Missouri Supreme Court has upheld numerous bills with far broader titles.

Wilson said both parts of the legislation relate to insurance and so satisfy the constitution’s requirement of a single subject. The judge also rejected the lawsuit’s assertion that legislators changed the bill’s original purpose by adding the section about health insurance mandates.

“The bill’s original purpose was to regulate insurance and insurance companies,” Wilson wrote in his ruling. “This purpose remained the same.”

Wilson also rejected arguments against the auditor’s financial estimate for the ballot measure and the timing by which the secretary of state distributed the ballot measure language to local election officials.

The judge’s decision largely agreed with the arguments of State Solicitor Jim Layton, a former co-worker in the attorney general’s office. Wilson was appointed to the court in January by Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon, for whom he had worked since 1996 – first in the attorney general’s office and then in the governor’s office.

Missouri bills typically go to the governor to be signed or vetoed. But the Republican-led Legislature bypassed Nixon on the health insurance legislation by sending it directly to the ballot.

Demand up or down vote on SB604

I am forwarding the following letter to with grate haste.  If there ever was a time to make our voices heard it is right now.  PLEASE take a moment of your valuable time and call both of your senators and firmly suggest they support SB 604 and call for an up or down vote on SB604 BEFORE they confirm Mr. Bernanke for his second term as Chairman of the Federal Reserve.
Call Senator Bond at 202-224-5721
Call Senator McCaskill at 202-224-6154
Dear C4L Member,

C4L staffers have been working very closely with Senator Jim DeMint’s office in recent days to advance Audit the Fed (S. 604) in the Senate.

Just a little while ago, it was announced that Senator DeMint, who is the lead Senate cosponsor of Audit the Fed, has put a “hold” on Bernanke’s confirmation for a second term as Federal Reserve chairman until S. 604 receives an up or down vote on the Senate floor.

Keep reading for more details on how your immediate action could help make this vote possible.

While Ben Bernanke was handed a few softball questions from establishment politicians during today’s Senate Banking Committee hearing on his nomination, he also faced serious grilling from senators who are tired of his evasive answers and secretive practices.

DeMint is joined by Senator Jim Bunning and S. 604 sponsor Senator Bernie Sanders in pledging to block action on Bernanke’s reconfirmation.

According to DeMint, “Mr. Bernanke has been one of the chief proponents of the Fed’s easy money policy that created the current financial crisis. He ignored asset bubbles, dismissed concerns about the weakness of the dollar, and helped encourage the credit mania that led to the financial panic. Even worse, Mr. Bernanke has refused to accept any responsibility for his role in these actions prior to financial crisis.

Read the rest of his press release here.

Ultimately, Bernanke’s reconfirmation is irrelevant to the main issue, which is bringing real transparency to the Fed.

It doesn’t matter who’s at the wheel of the car; they will still be driving a clunker.

Contact your senators today and tell them that before they consider either reconfirming Ben Bernanke or appointing a new Chairman, they must deliver the answers the American people want and deserve by giving Audit the Fed a standalone, up or down vote on the Senate floor.

And if you live in Kentucky, urge Senator Bunning to take an even stronger stand by cosponsoring S. 604.

You and I have come so far this past year in our battle to Audit the Fed.  Now, we have an excellent chance of seeing S. 604 debated on the Senate floor.  But we must take immediate action to turn this chance into a reality!

Contact your senators right away!

In Liberty,

John Tate

President

P.S. Audit the Fed has gotten further than ever before, but we need your help to achieve standalone votes in the House and Senate as we seek to turn it into law!  Click here to contribute to C4L today as we work to finish this fight!

WARNING – Don’t read this if you want to go back to sleep

You say you want the truth?
OK, if you insist.
But first, you have to repeat after me: War is a Racket’.
Anyone with a rudimentary knowledge of our quest for empire over the past 11 decades realizes that Obama’s contemplation of whether to send additional troops to Afghanistan is simply a function of his Handlers, the Power Elite, providing Obama with the opportunity to look “presidential.” The decision to send additional troops was reached prior to the situational comedy of General McChrystal’s leaked “confidential report” to the Washington Post and Obama’s National Security Advisor’s public admonishment of McChrystal’s failure to follow the chain of command. All of this is nothing but a well-rehearsed, though poorly camouflaged hoax. Additional troops WILL be sent to Afghanistan within a very short period of time and Obama really has no say in the matter. The question we should all be asking is: WHY?

Could it be the US-installed puppet government in Afghanistan has new suitors who represent a very real threat to the United State’s control of Afghanistan and her abundant natural resources? Is the entry of Russia and Chinese influence into Afghanistan the real reason for the need for more troops? Russia reportedly made its entry back in 2007 with the reopening of its embassy in Kabul. The Soviet Foreign Minister, Sergei Ivanov, met privately with President Karzai and offered military assistance through the Collective Security Treaty Organization. The CSTO is made up of Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Russia is the driving force in this organization, as one might understand, due to the economic and military weakness of the other members. There were meetings with CSTO delegation in Kabul and neither the US nor the UK were invited. Were the US/UK coalition (NATO) allowed to solidify its position in Afghanistan, it would create a territorial split between Russia, China and Iran. Russia will do whatever is necessary to prevent this growth of power and influence in the region. Flashback to the Bejiing Olympics fiasco in soviet Georgia for confirmation.
Moscow is certainly concerned with the Pentagon’s plan to deploy Special Operations forces into the Central Asian States to conduct “foreign internal defense missions.” This translates into increasing military activity, which is better known by the CFR controlled media as “spreading democracy,” by the barrel of a gun or “fighting terrorism” with our own special brand of terror.
NATO, following the CFR-introduced agenda, is campaigning for increased cooperation with Moscow in the region to “facilitate the fading of Russia’s lingering imperial ambitions.” These are the words of none other than Zbigniew Brzezinski, author of the NATO report. Surely, Putin will see through this smokescreen.
Russia has also cancelled all of Afghanistan’s Soviet-era debts and is moving to help Kabul rebuild the Afghan infrastructure. The increase of trade between Afghanistan and Russia, which was at the $190 million mark in 2008, is also a move to create a vision of Russia as an ally to the people of Afghanistan with the US and NATO appearing as the foreign invader.
What has prompted the governments in Moscow and Beijing to converge with the forces of NATO in Afghanistan? Is it purely a protectionist strategy or are those governments there for the same reason we initiated the war in 2001: an abundance of natural resources?
China has made its moves to secure as many of the natural resources located in Afghanistan as it can. Almost one year ago, in November of 2008, China, acting through the China Metallurgical Group Corporation and the Jiangxi Copper Company, secured the Aynak Copper Mine in Logar Province. This copper mine is reported to be the largest in the world and has been basically inoperative since the Soviet Invasion in 1979. China has agreed to a 2.9-billion dollar investment in the infrastructure of the area including a power plant and possible railroad into Pakistan. If I were an Afghan citizen, whom would I support in my country, a nation that is actually contributing to a better life or one that is indiscriminately bombing my fellow citizens?
Now, when it appears our puppet Karzai may have been influenced by a better offer from Russia, China, or both, the Obama administration, strongly supported by the neocons, is seeking to perhaps replace Karzai with a new election, suddenly proclaiming the election the US just supervised to have been corrupt. Members of both political/criminal parties now openly support the war in Afghanistan as being necessary to our national defense(those boogie-man terrorists), with the question being, not, do we send more troops to Afghanistan to bleed and die for oil and minerals, but how many? I’m sure our influence in NATO will bring about the necessary conclusions in order to facilitate our attempt to replace our own political puppet. Karzai has obviously broken the bonds of US control by participating in meetings outside of the US political purview with China, Russia and even in this agreement, which included Iran and Pakistan. The construction of this pipeline was due to start last month. Russia and China see this new pipeline as crucial to their retention of power in the region and will make the necessary military movements to insure their investments.
Financially crippled due to our continued wars for empire and the printing of billions of new dollars to repay political cronies in the financial world has left us in a precarious position in Afghanistan. We will try to counter the financial prowess of China, to whom we owe billions and their military ties to Russia with the blood and lives of tens of thousands of new US cannon fodder. When China tires of Hillary’s ‘knob-polishing’ offers and calls in our financial markers, what will become of our country?
We are escalating a war we cannot win. How long will it be before Americans realize that their blind patriotic/political allegiance, along with their lives, liberties, and property are all being taxed and exploited for the Racket of their political and financial masters.

President Obama’s Address to Students Across America

(PreK-6)

Produced by Teaching Ambassador Fellows, U.S. Department of Education

September 8, 2009

Before the Speech

  • Teachers can build background knowledge about the President of the United States and his speech by reading books about presidents and Barack Obama. Teachers could motivate students by asking the following questions:

Who is the President of the United States?

What do you think it takes to be president?

To whom do you think the president is going to be speaking?

Why do you think he wants to speak to you?

What do you think he will say to you?

  • Teachers can ask students to imagine that they are delivering a speech to all of the students in the United States.

If you were the president, what would you tell students?

What can students do to help in our schools?

Teachers can chart ideas about what students would say.

  • Why is it important that we listen to the president and other elected officials, like the mayor, senators, members of congress, or the governor? Why is what they say important?

During the Speech

  • As the president speaks, teachers can ask students to write down key ideas or phrases that are important or personally meaningful.  Students could use a note-taking graphic organizer such as a “cluster web;” or, students could record their thoughts on sticky notes.  Younger children could draw pictures and write as appropriate.  As students listen to the speech, they could think about the following:

What is the president trying to tell me?

What is the president asking me to do?

What new ideas and actions is the president challenging me to think about?

  • Students could record important parts of the speech where the president is asking them to do something. Students might think about the following:

What specific job is he asking me to do?

Is he asking anything of anyone else?

Teachers? Principals? Parents? The American people?

  • Students could record questions they have while he is speaking and then discuss them after the speech.  Younger children may need to dictate their questions.

After the Speech

  • Teachers could ask students to share the ideas they recorded, exchange sticky notes, or place notes on a butcher-paper poster in the classroom to discuss main ideas from the speech, such as citizenship, personal responsibility, and civic duty.
  • Students could discuss their responses to the following questions:

What do you think the president wants us to do?

Does the speech make you want to do anything?

Are we able to do what President Obama is asking of us?

What would you like to tell the president?

Extension of the Speech

Teachers could extend learning by having students:

  • Create posters of their goals.  Posters could be formatted in quadrants, puzzle pieces, or trails marked with the following labels: personal, academic, community, and country.  Each area could be labeled with three steps for achieving goals in that area. It might make sense to focus first on personal and academic goals so that community and country goals can be more readily created.
  • Write letters to themselves about how they can achieve their short-term and long-term education goals.  Teachers would collect and redistribute these letters at an appropriate later date to enable students to monitor their progress.
  • Write goals on colored index cards or precut designs to post around the classroom.
  • Interview one another and share goals with the class to create a supportive community.
  • Participate in school-wide incentive programs or contests for those students who achieve their goals.
  • Write about their goals in a variety of genres, such as poems, songs, and personal essays.
  • Create artistic projects based on the themes of their goals.
  • Graph individual progress toward goals.

A Declaration of Separation

A Declaration of Separation (Anonymous)

To The Governments & People of Earth:

We claim the right to exist, and we will defend it. We do not seek to overthrow anything. We do not seek to control anything. We merely wish to be left alone. All we ever wanted was to live in peace with our friends and neighbors. For a long, long time we bore insults to our liberty; we took blows, we did what we could to avoid injury and we worked through the system to get the offenses to stop. That has now changed. We no longer see any benefit in working through the world’s systems. At some point, working within a system becomes cowardly and immoral; for us, that point has arrived. Regardless of the parties in power, their governments have continued to restrict, restrain and punish us. We hereby reject them all. We hereby withdraw from them all. We hold the ruling states of this world and all that appertains to them to be self-serving and opposed to humanity. We now withdraw our obedience and reclaim the right to strike back when struck. We will not initiate force, but we do reserve the right to answer it. We did not choose this – it was forced upon us.

To The Governments of Earth:

You are building cages for all that is human. In the name of protection, you have intruded into all areas of human life, far exceeding the reach of any Caesar. You claim ultimate control of our property and our decisions, of our travels and even our identities. You claim ownership of humanity far beyond the dreams of any Emperor of any previous era. Understand clearly: We reject your authority and we reject your legitimacy. We do not believe that you have any right to do the things you do. You have massive power, but no right to impose it upon us and no legitimacy. We have forsaken you. We are no longer your citizens or your subjects. Your systems are inherently anti-human, even if all their operators are not. We are not merely angry young people. We are fathers and mothers; aunts, uncles and grandparents; we are business owners and trusted employees; we are mechanics and engineers and farmers. We are nurses and accountants and students and executives. We are on every continent. This is not a burst of outrage; this is a sober declaration that we no longer accept unearned suffering as our role in life. For long decades we sat quietly, hoping that things would turn around. We took no actions; we suffered along with everyone else. But after having our limits pushed back again and again, we have given up on your systems. If our fellow inhabitants of this planet wish to accept your rule, they are free to do so. We will not try to stop them. We, however, will no longer accept your constraints upon us. – From now on, when you hurt us, we will bite back. If you leave us alone we will leave you alone and you can continue to rule your subjects. We are happy to live quietly. But if you come after us, there will be consequences. You caused this because of your fetish for control and power. The chief men and women among you are pathologically driven to control everyone and everything that moves upon this planet. You have made yourselves the judge of every human activity. No god-king of the ancient world ever had the power that your systems do. You have created a world where only the neutered are safe and where only outlaws are free.

To The People of Earth:

We seek nothing from you. We do not want to rule you and we do not want to control you. All we wish is to live on earth in peace. As always, we will be helpful neighbors and generous acquaintances. We will remain honest business partners and trustworthy employees. We will continue to be loving parents and respectful children. We will not, however, be sacrificial animals. We reject the idea that others have a right to our lives and our property. We will not demand anything from you, and we will no longer acquiesce to any demands upon us. We have left that game. We reject all obligations to any person or organization beyond honesty, fair dealing and a respect for human life. We will shortly explain what we believe, but we are not demanding that you agree with us. All we ask is that you do not try to stop us. Continue to play the game if you wish; we will not try to disrupt it. We have merely walked away from it. We wish you peace.

To Those Who Will Condemn Us:

We will ignore you. We welcome and seek the verdict of a just God, before whom we are willing to expose our innermost thoughts. Are you similarly willing? We would stand openly before all mankind if it were not suicidal. Perhaps some day we will have to accept slaughter for our crime of independence, but not yet. Your criticism and your malice are much deeper than mere disagreements of strategy or philosophy. You do not oppose our philosophy, you oppose our existence. Our presence in the world means that your precious ideals are false. Some of you would rather kill us than face the loss of your ideologies, just as those like you have either hated or killed every sufficiently independent human. You present yourselves to the world as compassionate, tolerant and enlightened, but we know that your smooth words are costumes. Oh yes, we know you, servant of the state; don’t forget, we were raised with you. We played with you in the schoolyard, we sat next to you in the classroom. Some of us studied at the same elite universities. We watched as you had your first tastes of power. We were the boys and girls standing next to you. Some of us were your first victims. We are not fooled by your carefully crafted public image.

What We Believe

#1: Many humans resent the responsibilities that are implied by consciousness. We accept those responsibilities and we embrace consciousness. Rather than letting things happen to us (avoiding consciousness), we accept consciousness and choose to act in our own interest. We do not seek the refuge of blaming others, neither do we take refuge in crowds. We are willing to act on our personal judgment, and we are willing to accept the consequences thereof.

#2: We believe in negative rights for all: That all humans should be free to do whatever they wish, as long as they do not intrude upon others; that no man has a right to the life, liberty or property of another; that we oppose aggression, fraud and coercion.

#3: We do not believe that our way of life, or any other, will make life perfect or trouble-free. We expect crime and disagreements and ugliness, and we are prepared to deal with them. We do not seek a strongman to step in and solve problems for us. We agree to see to them ourselves.

#4: We believe in free and unhindered commerce. So long as exchanges are voluntary and honest, no other party has a right to intervene – before, during or after.

#5: We believe that all individuals should keep their agreements.

#6: We believe that honestly obtained property is fully legitimate and absolute.

#7: We believe that some humans are evil and that they must be faced and dealt with. We accept the fact that this is a difficult area of life.

#8: We believe that humans can self-organize effectively. We expect them to cooperate. We reject impositions of hierarchy and organization.

#9: We believe that all humans are to be held as equals in all matters regarding justice.

#10: We believe that the more a man or woman cares about right and wrong, the more of a threat he or she is perceived to be by governments.

#11: We believe that there are only two true classes of human beings: Those who wish to exercise power upon others – either directly or through intermediaries – and those who have no such desires.

#12: Large organizations and centralization are inherently anti-human. They must rely upon rules rather than principles, treating humans within the organization as obedient tools.

Our Plans:

We are building our own society. We will supplement traditional tools with networking, cryptography, sound money, digital currency and anonymous messaging. Our society will not be centrally controlled. It will rely solely on voluntary arrangements. We welcome others to join us. We are looking for people who are independent creators of value, people who act more than talk, and people who do the right thing because it is the right thing. We will develop our own methods of dealing with injustice, built on the principles of negative rights, restitution, integrity and equal justice. We do not forbid anyone from having one foot in each realm – ours and the old realm – although we demand that they do no damage to our realm. We are fully opposed to any use of our realm to facilitate crime in the old realm, such as the hiding of criminal proceeds. We expect to be loudly condemned, libeled and slandered by the authorities of the old regime. We expect them to defend their power and their image of legitimacy with all means available to them. We expect that many gullible and servile people will believe these lies, at least at first. We will consider traps laid for us to be criminal offenses. Any who wish to join us are encouraged to distribute this declaration, to act in furtherance of our new society, to voluntarily excel in virtues and to communicate and cooperate with other members of the new society.

Free, unashamed men cannot be ruled.

We are The Free and The Unashamed.
