Tonic Time Again

Every year the season changes and your body must adapt to the new environmental stresses of fall and winter.  The major media channels along with orthodox medicine will be bombarding us with propaganda about taking flu shots to keep from getting this year’s designer bug.  Besides the facts that these concoctions are based on pure guess work as to which virus will be making the rounds this year, there has been some recent research that shows avoiding the annual bug may not be a good thing.

You see the immune system is much more complex than we ever knew.  Now we know that there are two parts to the immune system.  The short term reactionary side, you experience when you get a cold or flu, and the long term low grade inflammation seen in allergies, asthma, and rheumatoid arthritis.  It turns out avoiding short term effects of colds and flu seem to increase the likelihood that you will develop long term allergies instead.  So a better option is to power up your immune system so that it can handle the seasonal bugs.  The following recipe is a sure fire way to give your natural immune system a boost and adapt to the seasonal viruses with very few symptoms.  If you have made this before, you know how potent this stuff is.  One last note, as you will see the tonic needs vodka to extract all the essence from herbs.  If you don’t like alcohol, after it has set for 14 days, simple heat the tonic up till it starts boiling.  This will completely eliminate the alcohol from the finished tonic.

1 bulb garlic

1 large white onion

1 hand size chunk of fresh ginger

4 ounces of fresh Horse radish

6 fresh hot peppers

1 quart apple cider vinegar (or your favorite fancy vinegar)

1 quart 80 proof vodka

Separate the bulb of garlic (not just a clove), chop the onion, ginger root, hot peppers (the hotter the better), and fresh horseradish root into 1/2” parts and toss them into your blender of food processor.  You want to keep the pulp in the mixture.  Cover with a quart of 80 proof vodka and blend until there are no large chunks, approximately 2-3 minutes.  Then pour into a large glass container with a sealable lid.  Let this mixture stand for 14 days shaking every day.  Then strain off the majority of the pulp and add a quart of vinegar, more or less to taste.  Take one teaspoon twice a day to prevent illness or every hour if you are already sick.  This tonic will boost your immune system, improve digestion, clear your arteries and your lungs and open your sinuses all with no side effects!

Massage at Harmony Health and Wellness

Things are really coming along around the new clinic. If you have not been in yet it has been at least 3 months since we moved, so it’s probably time for a tune up to get ready for winter.

Along with your spinal tune-up I would like to suggest a session with one of the talented massage therapists now available at Harmony Health and Wellness. Regular use of massage therapy goes a long way towards stabilizing an injury and improving your overall energy, health and well being. I have worked with massage therapists my entire career because their work with the muscles really help people hold my adjustments. I am currently working with several top notch therapists at Harmony Health and Wellness.

Leah has been with us since 1998. She teaches at a local college and is available Saturday mornings and a few shifts during the week. Jill is our newest therapist. She may be new to us, but she is certainly a veteran therapist and it really shows. Ken has recently changed careers and is very excited to work with you. Call Christina at 816-436-9355 to schedule your massage today!

misleading marketing with good intentions

What happens to your statistics when you count someone as cured, that never really had the disease in the first place?

There is a claim going around that breast cancer can be cured 95% of the time if caught early enough.  But, when is it too early?  When does the application of dangerous and damaging treatment for a suspicion of a possible cancer become a greater risk to life and limb for women who’s test results were false positives, or would have stabilized on their own?

This is a tough question. One that each individual should be empowered to make on their own.  The following article is a good discussion on the misleading claims of the Komen Foundation about the benefits of mammograms.  I look forward to our discussion on this sensitive issue.

Settling In to the new Clinic

I can’t say enough about how nice the energy is at our new location.  Everyone smiles just walking into the place.

I thought I would post a few pictures for everyone that has not stopped by yet.

I also wanted to remind everyone there is only one week left of the Grand Opening Special of buying 10 wellness treatments for $300.00 any method of payment.  After this week it goes back to it’s regular price of $400.00.

Please ask about the new Acugraph on your next visit and I will mark your file for a free Acupuncture exam.  This amazing computer technology is able to read your meridian energy and generate a complete report within minutes.  We will soon be charging $60.00 for this exam and report so make sure you reserve your’s now!

Anyway, here are some pictures.  They don’t come close to matching the light and energy of this place.  You have to see it in person to understand what I’m saying.  See you soon.

New office is open!

Harmony Health and Wellness and Dr Drumright are excited to let you know about our brand new clinic!

It is a couple blocks south of the old office at 6201 NW 63rd Terrace, Kansas City, MO  64151

In the Village of Burlington Creek Center just to the west of Quiznos.  Look down the alley next to Quiznos and you will see a bunch of big evergreen trees that are currently hiding our door.  Very soon this will be a nice water fall highlighting the front door instead of hiding it.  🙂

Anyway, it’s all very exciting.  Please stop by if you can.

Same phone number, same website.

Tomorrow is our sneak peak open house.  Please come by to check out the new office.  (Pardon the mess, it’s not quit finished)

Please help me evaluate this online scheduling service

As a part of our move, I want to bring our technology up to speed.  I am looking for a good online scheduling program that will allow you to make appointments with your smart phone or computer while keeping everything confidential.

I have found one good example and would really appreciate your feedback.

Please visit

You can mess around with it, when you make an appointment, the program both emails me and text messages me.  Please include a note in your schedule if you are seriously wanting an appointment.  Otherwise, please play around with it to help me decide if this is something I can use.

The buildout is going great.  The excitement around here is electrifying.

Researchers at Penn State discover a virus that kills cancer

The best part about it?  80% of you already have this virus.  It causes no symptoms and does not harm healthy cells but aggressively attacks cancer cells.

“Scientists at the Penn State College of Medicine said this week they have discovered a virus that is capable of killing all grades of breast cancer “within seven days” of first introduction in a laboratory setting.”  Read original article here

The new office is under construction!  Things are getting really exciting around here.  Just wanted to remind everyone from now until our grand opening you can purchase the 10 wellness treatment packages for $300.00.   Once things get humming down at Burlington Creek, I’m not sure when or if this offer will ever be repeated.  It might be a good idea to stock up now.  They never expire and can be shared with whom ever you want.

Canadian Research group shows dandelion root tea kills cancer

Just a reminder, our brand new clinic is under construction in the Village at Birlington Creek on 64th street just west of I-29.  The 10 for $300.00 discount will be available until opening day.  Stock up now!

Cancer-killing dandelion tea gets $157K research grant

His team’s first phase of research showed that dandelion root extract forced a very aggressive and drug-resistant type of blood cancer cell, known as chronic monocytic myeloid leukemia, to essentially commit suicide.

Researchers then discovered that repeated treatment with low dose dandelion root extract was effective in killing most of the cancerous cells.

We are moving!

I am extremely excited to announce our decision to move the clinic!

We have begun construction of a brand new clinic located in the Village at Birlington Creek.  (Use to be know as the Tuilleres)  on the south side of 64th Street just West of I-29.  We should be fully moved by the middle of June.

Same phone number 816-436-9355.  Same great service and no wait time!

To celebrate this exciting move I am offering all of my existing patients a limited time offer of deep discounts on my wellness treatment packages.  I have not offered this price since 2005 and may never offer it again.  There is no limit, so you can stock up now!
