Dealing with personal paradox

This is something I meditate on regularly. How can I speak up on issues I find important when they seem to counter to each other?   How can I assemble a workable world view when the various parts are in conflict with each other?

For example, I spend most of my days trying to help Life express itself by removing distortions, imbalances, or stagnation in the flow of chi through the skeleton, skin, mind and nervous system.  It would be easy to assume, and you would be right that I am against abortion.

I am a veteran, father, Oathkeeper, watchdog, guardian and other duties.  Which explains why I am in strong support of the 2nd amendment of the formative contract that allows a government to exist among a free people.

How do these seemingly opposite positions come together in a single world view?  I’ll answer this in the comments later today.  Please feel free to chime in.

Prescribing Trends: Not a Pretty Picture

There are safe, cheap effective alternatives for all chronic conditions people suffer with. We need to split modern medicine into two parts.

The American ER is top notch.

Prescribing patented chemicals to suppress the symptoms of chronic decay is not you best option. Ask me for details.

“Spending on prescription drugs in the Unites States has risen nearly 6-fold since 1990, reflecting substantial increases in treatment of chronic conditions and subsequent polypharmacy. As many as 45% of Americans have at least 1 diagnosed chronic condition, and 60% of the most prescribed medications were for hypertension, high cholesterol levels and diabetes. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that 11% of the US population and 40% of people older than age 60 take 5 medications or more.”

The Chiropractic adjustment cannot cause a stroke.

ICA – Internal Carotid Artery – damage to this vessel can cause a stroke

SMT – Spinal Manipulative Therapy – A Chiropractic Adjustment

“The researchers therefore conclude that “cervical SMT, as performed by the trained doctors of chiropractic in this study, did not appear to place undue strain on the ICA and thus does not seem to be a factor in ICA injuries.”

20 year of service!

So, next Monday November 19th, 2012 will mark two important anniversaries for me.

First, that is my 50th Birthday. yea!!

But more important for me, it represents 20 years of service to my community as a Doctor of Chiropractic.

I couldn’t begin to tell all the miracles I have witnessed, children I have watched grow up, parents becoming grand parents, on and on.  So many people have shared their lives with me over the years I reflect with pride and wonder at my great fortune.

Anyway, I will be seeing patients all day and would love to see you!  Please help me start my second 20 years with a huge day.  My goal is to treat 50 patients on my 50th birthday.  Please call Christina at 816-436-9355 to be a part of this special day.

Tonic Time Again

Every year the season changes and your body must adapt to the new environmental stresses of fall and winter.  The major media channels along with orthodox medicine will be bombarding us with propaganda about taking flu shots to keep from getting this year’s designer bug.  Besides the facts that these concoctions are based on pure guess work as to which virus will be making the rounds this year, there has been some recent research that shows avoiding the annual bug may not be a good thing.

You see the immune system is much more complex than we ever knew.  Now we know that there are two parts to the immune system.  The short term reactionary side, you experience when you get a cold or flu, and the long term low grade inflammation seen in allergies, asthma, and rheumatoid arthritis.  It turns out avoiding short term effects of colds and flu seem to increase the likelihood that you will develop long term allergies instead.  So a better option is to power up your immune system so that it can handle the seasonal bugs.  The following recipe is a sure fire way to give your natural immune system a boost and adapt to the seasonal viruses with very few symptoms.  If you have made this before, you know how potent this stuff is.  One last note, as you will see the tonic needs vodka to extract all the essence from herbs.  If you don’t like alcohol, after it has set for 14 days, simple heat the tonic up till it starts boiling.  This will completely eliminate the alcohol from the finished tonic.

1 bulb garlic

1 large white onion

1 hand size chunk of fresh ginger

4 ounces of fresh Horse radish

6 fresh hot peppers

1 quart apple cider vinegar (or your favorite fancy vinegar)

1 quart 80 proof vodka

Separate the bulb of garlic (not just a clove), chop the onion, ginger root, hot peppers (the hotter the better), and fresh horseradish root into 1/2” parts and toss them into your blender of food processor.  You want to keep the pulp in the mixture.  Cover with a quart of 80 proof vodka and blend until there are no large chunks, approximately 2-3 minutes.  Then pour into a large glass container with a sealable lid.  Let this mixture stand for 14 days shaking every day.  Then strain off the majority of the pulp and add a quart of vinegar, more or less to taste.  Take one teaspoon twice a day to prevent illness or every hour if you are already sick.  This tonic will boost your immune system, improve digestion, clear your arteries and your lungs and open your sinuses all with no side effects!
