There is a NYT article on the US debt today (see http://euandus3.wordpress.com/2009/11/23/12-trillion-in-debt-living-beyond-our-means/). It hasn’t been just after the financial crisis of 2008 that the US Government has had unbalanced annual budgets… And consider consumer “use” of credit cards? Is there something about our society–about ourselves–that we are missing because we are in it? (e.g. a fish doesn’t “see” its water). I don’t think we are digging deep enough.

This is just another of the most ludicrous acts and attempt at trying to control every aspect of our American way of life this President is attempting to push down the throats of middle class citizen of this country.

Artificially held down interest rates allows them to use the new money created with debt at todays value and pay it back later from an inflated money supply that has less comparative value per dollar.

In other words when interest costs are less than inflation over time, the debtor wins.

It won’t matter soon, anyway. With home values decreasing across the country, and homeowners having less and less equity in their properties, no one will be able to sell because the sale price will not be able to cover the remaining principal balance on the home. The canyon that separates the haves and have nots in this country will continue to grow, due in large part to restrictions on credit that have been forced by the unprecedented numbers of foreclosures in this country.

This country is in serious need of an enema…er, revolution. If I recall, it was Thomas Jefferson who once said “A revolution every now and then is a healthy thing”. It seems as though we have allowed the politicians to wield too much power for WAY too long.

Not that posting here will make a difference, since govt. decides to pass illegal laws all the time and nothing constructive ever comes of it, but do I even have to say it??!? How much more corruption are we supposed to just put up with??!?? I’m telling you all right now, Australia seems like a nice place. Perhaps somewhere near Melbourne… Fuck the government, we’re all tired of getting screwed w/o at least getting kissed. In court, they call that rape.

Consider the presumptuousness in the banking lobby involving itself and insisting that its interests be served in Congress as it fashions financial regulatory reform.
