Henry Ford’s Plastic Car

In 1941 the American inventor and businessman Henry Ford built a car both made from and fueled by hemp.  Imagine a weed that we spend billions of dollars a day trying to destroy, replaces both steel and oil…

No wonder this stuff is illegal!!!

If I owned a US senator or two and I fed my family by selling steel, oil, gas, drugs, paper, corn or cotton, it would certainly be in my best interests to get together a few of my friends and use our governmental and media connections to both outlaw and publically slander anything to do with this incredible weed.

FDA performs an about face on Mercury Fillings

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has finally admitted that metal dental fillings containing mercury can cause health problems in pregnant women, children and fetuses.

As part of the settlement of a lawsuit filed by several consumer advocacy groups, the FDA agreed to alert consumers about the potential risks on its Web site and to issue a more specific rule next year for fillings that contain mercury.

The FDA’s Web site now states that: “Dental amalgams contain mercury, which may have neurotoxic effects on the nervous systems of developing children and fetuses.”

Charles Brown, a lawyer for advocacy group Consumers for Dental Choice, said the agency’s move represented an about-face. According to Brown, “Gone, gone, gone are all of FDA’s claims that no science exists that amalgam is unsafe … The impact of the re-writing of its position on amalgam can hardly be understated. FDA’s website will no longer be cited by the American Dental Association in public hearings.”

Decriminalize Marijuana

The following is from Dr. Ron Paul’s weekly newsletter.  I would like to add; not only would we see the dramatic savings in medical expenses he talks about, but we would also realize an equally dramatic savings in police and prison costs.

DrD

Politicizing Pain

K.K. Forss does not claim medical marijuana solves all his problems.  His pain from a ruptured disc in his neck is debilitating.  He is unable to go to work or to the First Baptist Church he used to attend because of the pain and muscle spasms.  Taxpayers through Medicare spend over $18,000 a year on his various medications.  Half of those drugs are strong narcotics.  The other half address the various side-effects brought on by the first half, such as nausea, heartburn, heart palpitations, difficulty sleeping, and muscle spasms.

No, marijuana would not completely address all his pain, but it made a tremendous difference in the quality of his life when he tried it for over a year.  It helped him regain 38 pounds he had lost.  It calmed his muscle spasms and helped him sleep. In short, it alleviated many side effects and greatly reduced his need for other expensive medications.  Mr. Forss estimates that being allowed to use medical marijuana would save taxpayers at least $12,000 a year in medications he would no longer need.  He would also be able to work occasionally and attend some church services.

Scientists at the University of California at Davis recently completed a study that backs up Mr. Forss’s experience, finding that cannabis demonstrates significant relief of neuropathic pain.  Many in government call for more studies while people like K.K. Forss suffer.  More studies will not change what many patients already know, and that is for some, medical marijuana helps their pain.  But over-reaching government gets in the way.

K.K. Forss lived in constant fear of federal and state officials so he eventually stopped taking medical marijuana and switched to his more rigorous and expensive pill regimen.  Presently, twelve states have passed legislation allowing marijuana, under certain conditions, to be prescribed legally by doctors for patients who could benefit from it.  K.K. Forss lives in Minnesota, where it is not yet legal.  However, even if it is legalized by the state, Mr. Forss will still have plenty to fear from the Federal government, as cannabis dispensaries and clinics that operate under these state laws are still under fire from the Drug Enforcement Administration.

In other words, the federal government sees fit to use our tax dollars to raid state sanctioned healthcare clinics, to imprison and fine patients and operators, in order to compel people like Mr. Forss to be bedridden and overmedicated at great taxpayer expense every single day.

The Federal government should recognize that states have the authority to decide these issues.  This affords all states the opportunity to see which policies are most beneficial. As a Congressman and a physician, I strongly advocate that healthcare decisions should be made by doctors and patients, not politicians or federal agents, which is why I am an original co-sponsor of the recently introduced “Medical Marijuana Patient Protection Act” which would bar the Federal government from intervening in such doctor/patient relationships that violate no state law.

The bottom line is that K.K. Forss should be treated as a free American.  Mr. Forss is one of many who would like to use marijuana medicinally because it helps him.  Politicians and bureaucrats have no right to interfere.

Proper alignment of people government and corporations

I was asked by Dr. Crow to blog this explanation so here goes:

Step 1:  In order to protect the liberties of the weak against oppression from the will of the strong, people gather together to form a government.

Government is vested by the people (jurors) with limited powers to referee (not judge) dispute resolutions between individuals.

Step 2:  In order to finance its existence, government is directed to regulate the creation and activities of corporations that do business within its borders.

End product:

Corporations answer to and provide revenue for the government.

Government answers to and protects the interests of the people.

People answer to the golden rule, and are responsible for the well being of thier local communities.

Sounds simple huh?  Well, to get back to this it is going to take a majority of American patriots to have the courage to reclaim the responsibility for thier own health, wealth and happiness.

All federal entitlements need to be phased out to be replaced with responsible local activities.

(Remove your >50% tax burden from your mind, imagine doubling your personal income, then reread this sentence with the attitude of how you could directly help others around you.)

Stop waiting for the authorities to save you, start being responsible adults, trust your feelings and remember the golden rule.

A Hopi Elder Speaks

“You have been telling the people that this is the Eleventh hour, now you must go back and tell the people that his is THE hour, and there are things to consider…

Where are you living?

What are you doing?

What are your relationships?

Where is your water?

It is time to speak your truth, create your community. Be good to each other. Do not look outside yourself for the leader.”

Then he clasped his hands together, smiled and said. “This could be a great time! There is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid. They will try to hold onto the shore. They will feel they are being torn apart and will suffer greatly.

Know this, the river has its destination. The Elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open and our heads above the water. Look around and see who is there with you and celebrate!

At this time in history we are to take nothing personally. Least of all, ourselves. For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt.

The time of the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves! Banish the word struggle from your attitude and your vocabulary. All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.

We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.”

Dancing on the 5th Dimension

So here we are, riding a small rocky planet as it spins through the first four dimensions of height, length, width and duration.  From our perspective we look back down the path we have traveled in the 4th deminsion of time and it appears to be a straight line.

But, turn your attention to the future and you can immediately appreciate the 5th deminsion of infinite outcomes from a known start.  The known start is right here, right now.  What happens next is entirely up to our thoughts, momentum from prior actions and the thoughts of other humans around us.

Every thought, beleif, or behavior that you have can be easily divided into two catagories:

  1. Willful act to increase or decrease the quality of life for you and others, or
  2. An old habit, a barely conscience action that comes with truck loads of built in excuses and explanations.

It is time that we all begin to challenge everything.  Is that belief really improving my pursuit of happiness?  Does this behavior make me feel guilty, fearful, selfish, or angry?  Am I really happy?

Only you will know the answer to these questions.   Learn to trust your feelings.  You see your brain has two halves.  The logical half that must make sense out of every experience and the intuitive half that does not need to judge everything, and allows things to co-exist that would make the logical side scream!  Your western training has taught you that your imagination is not real.  Now we know, that was not true.  As far as your reality is concerned it is real if you beleive it is real no matter where it came from, your eyes or your imagination.  Your feelings are your connection with what is right and wrong.  If something doesn’t feel right, don’t do it until you investigate the topic further.  More information will allow you to make a more informed decisions.

Bottom line, each of us must have the courage to take responsibility for our sphere of infuence.  I have been taught to lead by example, there are no excuses, or any reason for guilt.  Do what feels right, and don’t do what feels wrong and together we will make the world a better place for our children.
